Q |
Where can I get more information on how to use the Pack? |
A |
Our
User's Manual provides very detailed instructions on
best practices using the PowerPack Gym. In fact, you
can check out the complete User's Manual here. Of course, if
you have any additional questions please don't
hesitate to contact our Customer

|
Q |
What kind of weights are used in the PowerPack Gym? |
A |
The
PowerPack Gym will only take 5- and 10-pound weight plates
with a maximum capacity of 4 plates, or 40 pounds. There are
various sized 10-pound plates on the market. It's important to
note that the PowerPack Gym will only use the industry 'standard'
dimension 10-pound plates which are 8-3/16 inches in diameter.
Anything larger will not fit into the molded canisters. |
|
|
Q |
Are those weights included with the PowerPack Gym? |
A |
No.
As much as we'd like to include weight plates
the cost of shipping would
be extremely costly. To save you money, we recommend getting
weight plates from a sporting goods store. |
|
|
Q |
What else is included with the PowerPack Gym? |
A |
Everything
you'll need to use the PowerPack
Gym safely, conveniently and effectively including the frame itself, a rear cover, shoulder straps/waist
belt (pre-attached), 2 dumbbell bars, 4 collars
and a manual. Again, weight plates are not
included. |
|
|
Q |
Is there any assembly required once I get the PowerPack Gym? |
A |
No!
There is no assembly required. Just load the PowerPack
Gym with the appropriate amount of weight for you, and then you can
begin your exercise routine. It's that simple! |
|

Q |
How do muscles grow using the PowerPack Gym? |
A |
Exercising
hard enough to cause muscle soreness is what makes muscles stronger.
Weight training with enough volume and intensity 'damages' the
muscle fibers which causes soreness over the next day
or two. It's the muscle healing process that makes the
muscle stronger. Muscles grow during the
healing process by releasing tissue growth factors to heal the muscle
fibers. If you allow the muscle soreness to completely
disappear before exercising intensely again, the muscle fibers
will become larger and increase in numbers by splitting to form
new fibers. If you fail to take adequate rest
days between workouts or before the soreness goes away the
fibers can be torn and the muscles actually weakened.
Higher
tension, meaning heavier weights, induces the type of muscle
growth in which muscle fibers grow larger, leading to the
best gains in strength. Longer tension time, meaning lesser
weights but with more reps/sets, boosts muscle
endurance. The classic 8-12 reps times 2 or 3 sets strikes a
balance between the two, but if you use that scheme all the time you
don't get the optimal effects of greater tension
levels that come with heavier weights or lighter weights and more reps. So
adjust the weight levels and vary your rep count.
Continually
making changes in volume and intensity is the key to avoid
plateaus. Push your body's imitations to stimulate muscle growth.
Fitness is really determined by how hard you work, not how long you
work. The only stimulus that makes muscles stronger is
to exercise those muscles against increasing resistance.
You don't become stronger over the long term by lifting the same
weight day after day. |
|
|
Q |
Why are natural body weight workouts better? |
A |
With
natural body weight workouts, more auxiliary and supporting muscle
groups are employed to stabilize and balance your body during each
repetition. Push-ups, for instance, demand more muscle groups to
keep the mid-section and legs more stable and rigid. Those
same muscles are not being worked when you're laying out on a
bench. |
